One Week In Capestang

October 5, 2014

It’s hard to believe I’ve been here a week already. It’s another spectacular day, sunny and breezy, which is why I decided to wash sheets. It’s taking all my ingenuity to figure out where to hang them, since I don’t have a dryer.  I’ve now cleaned off the tops of all the doors so I can drape them over, and every window in the house is open for the  breeze.

Doing without a dryer forces one to plan laundry around the weather. At home I’d be doing it on a gloomy day, but here I’m reliant on the sun.

Another Sunday market has rolled around. The paella man and the chicken man are in their usual spots, but the butcher’s a no-show.

Lovely bottles of grapeseed and olive oil glisten in the dappled sunlight, and those cute little melons say, “Buy me!” (I did.)

There’s so much to write about, and I can’t decide what to share next. Plus it’s too nice to be inside, so I’m going to take my book and notebook and hang out in the town square. More later.

  1. That first picture reminds me of Manet. I’ll post something on Facebook.
